Curatorial tour Prof. Dr. Dijana Metlić, Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad

Until 2024, little was known about the work of Danica Nikić, the Serbian artist, philanthropist, and educator from Novi Sad. Thanks to Dr Vera Jovanović and the artist’s close relatives in Novi Sad, the Kovačević family, the interwar Serbian cultural scene is now richer for yet another notable woman. During the tour, along with the interpretation of selected Intimist art, attention will be drawn to the possibility of linking the artist with the leading trends in the development of national art between the two World Wars.
