Danica Nikić contributed greatly to the emancipation of women in Serbian society, emphasising the importance of their right to pursue knowledge and nurture independence in their art. She was a member of several women’s charitable and educational associations. For over six decades, the Charity Collective and the united women of Novi Sad became an important instrument in the development of society, primarily by helping the community through their humanitarian work. Thanks to their efforts, Danica’s painting was first presented to the public around 1929 at a Collective exhibition.
