Since it opened its doors to the public six decades ago, The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection has been continuously expanding the circle of associates involved in the increasing number of activities: research work, exhibitions and projects in the country and abroad, educational programs, publishing, but also as a result of gifts and donations from individuals and organizations. Operating within the city, province, country and the entire region, the museum encourages all types of partnerships which lead to new ideas and joint programs. Thanks to the cooperation with other institutions and museums, embassies and their cultural centres and institutes, as well as membership in professional organizations, we open up further possibilities for international partnerships and greater visibility.
The basic strategy of The Memorial Collection states that it is a place of learning and promotion of art and culture, where more than one hundred and thirty different events take place annually. Thematic programs are designed to raise the affection for the museum through cooperation with educational institutions (from preschool to higher education), professionals from the same or related fields and nongovernment organizations. In that way, The Memorial Collection interacts with young people, striving to develop their creative potentials. The decades-long cooperation with the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, initiated, among other things, by The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection Award, is especially valuable. By working together with relevant experts, we continuously develop programs for the integration of persons with disabilities (blind and partially sighted, deaf and hard of hearing), applying examples of good practice and aiming to improve the quality of their lives.
Connection with the museums on the Gallery Square is also important. It emphasizes the value and synergies of these three institutions as a cultural and social unit and makes this spot unique cultural centre of Novi Sad. Openness to the social environment, involvement in numerous cultural events in the city and harmonization with the program platforms of the Foundation “Novi Sad 2021” – European Capital of Culture, sends an open invitation to both the local community and the tourism industry to cooperate with museums.
For years, the museum has been drawing considerable media support, especially during the implementation and presentation of ambitious national and international projects. Good media coverage of all our activities is extremely important for improving the quality of exhibitions and projects, and for maintaining high professional standards.
