The museum theatrical play “Cuca and Bogdan. The Untold Story.” created in collaboration between The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection and the “Mišolovka” Youth Theatre is inspired by the biographies and friendship between the artists Ljubica Sokić and Bogdan Šuput, whose works are represented in the Memorial Collection.
Blending the documentary and the poetic, the play reveals hidden layers of friendship and creative longing, bringing to life the story of two artists whose paths crossed between Belgrade, Paris, and Novi Sad. The scenes within the performance merge into a single one that never actually took place in real life. By delving into the artists’ most intimate correspondence, the actors subtly uncovered their characters and emotions, creating an event that never occurred—a farewell scene set in the year 2026.
For this production, the “Mišolovka” Youth Theatre and The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection received a special recognition from NC ICOM Serbia (2025) for their outstanding use of interpretive tools in preserving the phenomenological aspects of heritage.
The cast includes Vasilije Zečević, Emilija Vasović, Pero Blažić, Viktor Čordaš, Milica Đurović, Simona Čokić, Marko Trivić, Gabrijel Bobak, Sergej Stojanović, Vasil Jović, and Petra Protić; adaptation, drama pedagogy and director: Ibro Sakić MA, “Mišolovka” Youth Theatre, Novi Sad; costumes: Sonja Maletin; project coordinator: Milica Orlović Čobanov.
