During the lecture, inspired by the artifacts on display from the family legacy, Siniša Vlajković will bring the immediate environment of Vidosava Kovačević and her family closer to the audience. Their life stories provide an engaging framework for understanding the historical circumstances and society in Serbia and Belgrade at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The lecture will also touch on the importance of learning French within the family and on pursuing education in Paris. Such decisions highlight the importance of embracing French culture during the development of civil society in Serbia, creating a link to this year’s Francophonie Month 2026. Admission is free.
