“About Sava Šumanović’s Bathers of Šid”

The art historian, prof. Lidija Merenik, will discuss the “Bathers of Šid” – a unique neo-realistic and abstract-classical series in relation to the contemporary European painting. The series is a part of the gift from the artist’s mother, Persida Šumanović, to the city of Šid that totals 417 works. This served as the basis for the establishment of the Art Gallery “Sava Šumanović” in Šid 70 years ago.
