LJUBICA CUCA SOKIĆ’S WORLD OF DRAWINGS

The collection of drawings at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade includes works by artists such as Dado Đurić, Uroš Tošković, Vladimir Veličković, and Ljubica Cuca Sokić. These drawings reflect an affinity for narrative, metaphorical, and hyperbolic elements, created between the late 1950s and the mid-1970s. Ljubica Sokić’s drawings from this period showcase a wide range of themes. Alongside paintings and drawings dominated by an associative interpretation of landscapes, they also include portraits, nudes, still lifes, as well as a number of sketches, notes and annotations capturing impressions of imagined or real sceneries.
