Conceived as a complement to the heterogeneous content of the Collection of Photographs of The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection, the lecture by art historian Ivana Arađan, MA, will explore parallels between the identities presented in the exhibition Reflections and those that shaped Serbian civic society in the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. Focusing on photographic portraits produced between the 1860s and the 1930s—now held in public and private collections—the lecture will draw on various examples from the speaker’s ongoing research.
