REFLECTIONS

The exhibition titled Reflections: Collection of Photographs at The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection will be opened at The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection on Thursday, 30th October at 7 p.m. The exhibition and catalogue, curated by the senior curator Jasmina Jakšić Subić, continues this legacy’s mission of bringing the items preserved in the museum’s repository closer to both professional and general audiences. Following the Collection of Fine Arts, Collection of Decorations, Collection of Gramophone Records, and the Collection of Books, in 2025 the visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Collection of Photographs.

The complex and heterogeneous content of the Collection spans a full century of photography, from the late 19th century to the 1980s, during which this medium became an important part of visual culture and a means of recording various aspects of life. This Collection also follows the commercialization of photography, along with the development of technical innovations, its accessibility to a wider audience, and its use for portraiture, event documentation, and the capture of personal memories. The exhibition has been supported by the Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information, and Relations with Religious Communities.
