SASA Gallery, Belgrade
After the Novi Sad premiere (11 September – 18 October 2020), the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection exhibition, Musical Intermezzo: Pavle Beljanski’s Collection of Gramophone Records will be presented at the SASA Gallery in Belgrade. At this exhibition, the Memorial Collection will present a less-famous museum collection which reveals the collector’s taste and dedication to music, but also offers an insight into developments in the interwar music industry. The collection includes recordings by famous composers from the Baroque period, Viennese classical period, Romanticism and the early 20th century (J. S. Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and 19th century composers such as Chopin, Schubert, Liszt, Wagner, Smetana and others). “Live” recordings are also included, which enabled Beljanski to enjoy exciting musical performances from the stages around the world in his home. He shared this experience with his friends by organizing soirees that brought the atmosphere of famous concert halls. The exhibition is accompanied by the records collection catalogue and includes articles by the project manager Jasmina Jakšić Subić, senior curator, and musicologists, Ira Prodanov PhD and Milan Milojković PhD, professors at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.
