The tactile exhibition Touch and Feel aims to improve the experience of examining Pavle Beljanski’s collection for people with acquired or congenital sight loss conditions. It is being carried out in cooperation with the “Milan Petrović” School for Primary and Secondary Education from Novi Sad by raising the social awareness of the need to adapt museum spaces and programs to the visitors with disabilities.
The exhibition intended for blind and partially sighted people is based on first-hand experiences that also included the general attitude towards art. Typhlo-route, tactile diagrams, labels in Braille alphabet, plaster castings of sculptures as well as audio guides on Daisy Flash Players enable more pronounced sensation of paintings and sculptures. So far, The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection has presented Touch and Feel exhibition in the National Library of Serbia in Belgrade, the National Museum in Kikinda, the National Library in Užice, “Dimitrije Tucović” library in Lazarevac and “Ljubomir Nenadović” library in Valjevo.
