ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
The “Life” Group and Its Role in the Art and Politics of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the 1930s is an exhibition based on the Master thesis by Marijana Vaščić, MA, a laureate of The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection Award 2019. The group, which operated as an art and political movement, became the heart of social art in the 1930s and a symbol of engaged art. The exhibition includes the artworks from museums and private collections: The National Library of Serbia, The National Museum in Belgrade, The Museum of Yugoslavia, The Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection and the Vujičić Foundation Collection. The exhibition has been organized in cooperation with the Radio-Television of Serbia, the Radio-Television of Vojvodina and Mrs. Mira Kun. It has been supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and the Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, and Generali Insurance, Serbia. The exhibition runs from 22 October until 27 December 2020, and offers various programmes which will take place in accordance with the recommended health measures.
