Vlaho Bukovac “My Life”

On Thursday, 26 February 2026, at 7 p.m., The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection will host the promotion of a new edition of Vlaho Bukovac’s autobiographical book My Life, published by Akademska knjiga, Novi Sad. Bukovac shaped his biography into the book My Life, first published in Zagreb in 1918. Akademska knjiga has published the same text that was originally released during the painter’s lifetime. After more than a century, Bukovac’s authentic memoirs, accompanied by numerous archival photographs and reproductions of his artworks, are once again presented to the public. The book will be promoted in front of Bukovac’s renowned painting Le Grande Iza (1882), a work to which the artist devoted a special chapter in his autobiography.
