Exhibition of children’s art PORTRAIT OF AN ARTIST

The exhibition of children’s art, entitled Portrait of an Artist, will be opened on Saturday, 25 February 2023 at 11 AM. In 2022, the project Portrait of an Artist took place as a part of the educational and creative programmes for preschool children entitled “Kindergarten Curator” and was dedicated to Sava Šumanović on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of this great painter’s death. The result is an exhibition of the same name which will present the children’s works created in the workshops that took place in several Novi Sad kindergartens belonging to the Public Pre-School Institution “Radosno detinjstvo” from Novi Sad. The project followed the international exhibition Sava Šumanović and the Realism in Europe Between the Two World Wars realized as part of the official programme of the “Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture” Foundation, in 2022. This was done in cooperation with Jelena Tišma and Viktorija Čikoš, from the Public Pre-School Institution “Radosno detinjstvo”, Novi Sad. The author of the programme is Milica Orlović Čobanov, the senior curator at The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection.

Visitors will also be able to watch the videos made by the participants in collaboration with a graphic illustrator, Selena Tabaković, which managed to bring to life motifs from Sava Šumanović’s favourite artworks.
