22 Jun – 17 July
Video presentation
Producer: Suzana Vuksanović, MA
At the exhibition “Heroines of The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection”, visitors have a unique opportunity to witness, in the form of video presentation entitled Identifications: Subtlety and Rigour, the artistic dialogue between the selected works from Pavle Beljanski’s Collection and contemporary Novi Sad female artists: Milica Dukić MA, Zorica Čolić MA, Jelena Vladušić PhD, Jelena Janev PhD, Monika Sigeti MA, Jelena Kovačević Vorgučin MA and Dragana B. Stevanović, PhD.
The modern and contemporary is what the seven female artists of Yugoslav 20th century Modernism (Nadežda Petrović, Vidosava Kovačević, Zora Petrović, Liza Križanić, Leposava St. Pavlović, Ljubica Sokić, Milica Zorić) brought to the culture and art of their time, which served as an idea to introduce seven contemporary female artists who have lived or studied in Novi Sad, the European capital of culture. Their approach to different forms of media and artistic expressions has earned them a prominent place on the local and international art scene. A specially created video presentation, created by the art historian Suzana Vuksanović, reveals analogous conceptual, ideological, visual and artistic affiliations of female artists belonging to both the past and contemporary eras that can inspire new discoveries and interpretations of their art.
