As part of the series of educational programmes for preschool children titled “Kindergarten Curator”, The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection has launched another one called “Time to PLAY”. This event at the museum is organized for the children from the “Radosno detinjstvo” kindergartens in Novi Sad. These young visitors will have a unique opportunity to “revive” the characters from Pavle Beljanski’s collection with the help of the illustration artist Selena Tabaković, an associate of the Memorial Collection. For a more complete experience of the personalities painted by famous artists, the focus will be on the depictions of children. Little Milan (1951), a work by Nedeljko Gvozdenović, and Little Girl’s Head (1912), by Vidosava Kovačević, are among the selected portrayals of children from the collection. Participants will learn to use computer applications to deliver “motion” to these characters in new, imaginary situations with the help of the assistant artist. The exhibition of finished children’s works will be held next year. The long-standing collaboration between The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection and the Pre-School Institution “Radosno detinjstvo” is entering its third decade of organizing educational programmes. The main goal of this partnership is to promote the museum’s collection of art among the youngest audience, which has resulted in the annual children’s workshops and exhibitions of children’s art that started in 2003.
